Prayer and Forgiveness Changes Everything!
How often do we leave our prayer life on the back burner until we find ourselves
in the middle of a tragedy, or illness, or after trial have taken their tolls upon
us? Maybe we finally look up when we think we have nowhere to turn but to God. But
our Heavenly Father says in His Word that He is looking for that communiqué from us
at all times, i.e., upon our rising, at noontime, in the evening, and as we rest our
heads upon our soft pillows. (Evening, and morning, and at noon,
will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. Psalm 55:17KJV.)
One helpful way to get us talking to God is by stepping into our private prayer closets,
where we can pour out our hearts, or find a restful spot where we will sit silently before
Him as we wait for Him to speak to us, via His still small voice, or through His Scriptures.
The Lord is also aware of when we are seeking forgiveness before we even ask, but it should
not stop us from accepting it as given. Sometimes, that acceptance is more difficult for us
than God's treasured forgiveness. He wants to be accepted as our loving Father who is always
there for us.
That good prayer life can be maintained by also taking part in a group prayer chain with the
church or with various Christian friends of other church assemblies, or by taking part in
weekly small group prayer meetings; even starting a prayer fellowship of our own. God is not
concerned with the size of any group. (For where two or three are gathered together in my name,
there am I in the midst of them." Matthew 18:20 KJV.)
In every situation mentioned, we know that healthy prayer life begins on our knees. Our faithful
prayers can and will change things, and God with His welcome forgiveness will always be the
wonderful icing that forever covers a multitude of those sins that keep us from Him. It is
never too late to begin.

Hungry for Fellowship?
Remember the last time you invited a gathering of your friends over for a pleasant lunch and visit?
When a small group of sisters-in-Christ gather to commune at a nicely arranged table, and share the
joy and hope the Lord promises each one of us, there are never any regrets.
What might you serve? A trouble-free salad with homemade lemonade and biscuits will bring smiles to
the guests at your table. Brew a fresh pot of tea or coffee, and add a delicious chocolate truffle
from the local bakery to finish off the meal.
Here is one recipe idea.
| WILTED SPINACH SALAD |
- 1 hard-boiled egg
- 4 slices bacon (fried crisp)
- 1 lb spinach
- 2 TBLS sugar
- ½ C Red Wine Vinegar
- 2 tsp bacon drippings
- 2 TBLS Xtra-virgin olive oil
- Sea Salt
- Crushed Black Pepper
- Hard-boil the egg, set aside to cool
|
| Fry bacon until crisp, then drain on paper towels.
Place washed, dried, and crisped spinach into a gently heated serving bowl.
Crush up bacon and place back in skillet where you have reserved no more than 2 tsp bacon drippings and added the olive oil. Add sugar, then vinegar, and heat until mixture bubbles. Pour mixture over spinach, quickly toss, scatter grated egg over the top, salt lightly, add crushed pepper, and serve immediately!

So send out two or three cards of invitation. By taking an hour and a half out of just one day a month, you will find it well worth your time. You will receive a blessing, and everyone's spirits, including yours, will be lifted.
(If you work...dine out at a favorite restaurant. Mary, a dear friend of mine, and I tried to do this often when I resided in Seattle, and I have never forgotten our sweet time of fellowship.)

Virtuous Woman-- What is that?
What seems utterly impossible for us in Proverbs 31:10-31, the Scripture begs to differ. (Take a minute to read those familiar verses in Proverbs, and then allow yourself to weep for a moment, but do not stop there. The answer for us is in the New Testament book of Philippians.
"I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me - I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me, [that is, I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].
Philippians 4:13 AMP.
Now dry those tears and smile again. You and I can be the women God has called us to be - in our homes, at our workplaces, and in our particular service unto Him. I am ready for my infusion...How about you?
